Ridge Racer 6 review: This otherwise enjoyable racer is marred by an extraordinarily easy central campaign.

Ridge Racer 6 review: Arguably the most anticipated 360 launch title, RR6 simply doesn't live up to what was once one of the most successful titles on any platform. A shame, says Gareth, but not one worth crying over.

Ridge Racer 6 review: Pros:- Lovely physics bending drifting- Absolutely oodles of races- Online playCons:- Takes a while to hit its stride- Too few tracks- Morally dubious AI

Ridge Racer 6 review: The game feels and plays superbly, it looks lovely, and it’s just a really polished game. If you’re a fan of Need for Speed and Burnout, I really recommend picking this up, I am sure you won’t be disappointed. For the rest of you who stubbornly refuse to give Ridge Racer a chance, well I think you’re genuinely missing out on an excellent update of a classic game series.
Game Chronicles reviews
Ridge Racer 6 review: I’ve played them both and enjoy them both, but at the end of the day when I am looking for a quick thrill and some rewarding racing action I still keep coming back to Ridge Racer 6. It’s one of those games that relies more on instincts and experience than reflexes, and it is easily the best looking racer and one of the two best looking games currently available on the Xbox 360.

Ridge Racer 6 review: So anyway, it's having an 8, but it's scraped it by the finest of margins. Gotham's a better game, but this turns out to be a worthy alternative. Eventually.

Ridge Racer 6 review: I remember being on vacation with my dad in the summer of 1994 when we went to one of the many arcades located in Minnesota’s Mall of America. There I saw Namco’s Ridge Racer for the very first time. Back in Toledo (where I grew up) we had nothing like this and in a time where the first PlayStation was a year from hitting U.S. shores, the graphics that this arcade game displayed were simply amazing. Seeing this jump from 2D sprites to 3D driving is one of those gaming moments that will always remain etched in my memory. When I first received Ridge Racer 6, I couldn’t stop thinking about my first experience with the Ridge Racer series and hoped that this version would be able to live up to those lofty expectations, at least a little bit. Although it’s certainly not the technological leap that the original Ridge Racer was, RR6 is definitely one of the better titles currently available for the Xbox 360.

Ridge Racer 6 review: Namco debuts their flagship racer on the 360, wowing everyone with the fast arcade style racing it is famous for, except for a lag-plagued online play.

Ridge Racer 6 preview: Thankfully there is one. The game itself hasn't had me reaching for the Xbox's yet, but it's going to have to work quite hard in the next few days to score anything beyond the numerical reach of the average gearbox.Ridge Racer 6 is due out in Europe on January 20th.Game InformationView Screenshots

Ridge Racer 6 review: I was hoping to see a sense of R: Racing Evolution here as far as features go, but I guess Namco is going with the old cliché of… “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Ridge Racer fans will be happy to see that RR 6 definitely isn’t broken, and it is easily one of the top launch games to own for the Xbox 360. -- Brian Peterson
