There is a lot of potential with Full Auto and hopefully we’ll see a more developed concept with better online play in the near future. For now, it’s probably best as a rental unless you really plan to spend the weeks required to unlock every last bonus.

Full Auto goes from an Xbox 360 technological demo to a full-on game, and one that thrills us with fast-paced racing and truly destructive weapons.

The much-anticipated weapons of Full Auto are mounted on the car. In most races there are two weapons available and two shooting buttons to shoot them. You can aim the weapons to destroy cars, buildings, streetlamps and anything else that gets in your way. - Michelle Krut, Grrlgamer.com

Full Auto review:
There are a lot of cool ideas at play in Full Auto, and the races can be giddily enjoyable, especially online, but overall it doesn’t quite reach the heights that a weapons-based racer could. Still, if the idea of racing around, blasting at anything that moves sounds like fun to you, then there are probably some thrills to be had for you in this game.

I also have to commend Sega for taking chances lately, and I'm glad to see them realizing that not everything needs to be about Sonic or their long and impressive arcade history. You would never peg them to release a game like Condemned or Full Auto, but they have, and hopefully gamers respond. -- Jim Cordeira

Nonetheless, the sound effects are decent but they aren’t anything special.Full Auto is a respectable first-entry for car combat games on the Xbox 360. The game could use a bit more variety, but the included race types, different cars and weapons, and decent replay value somewhat balance it out. It isn’t Twisted Metal Black, but a respectable first entry nonetheless.

Full Auto review:
After an overall lackluster launch lineup and a post-launch drought of major releases over the past two months or so, the killer Xbox 360 software apps we’ve been waiting for are finally beginning to come along slowly but surely. With Fight Night Round 3 recently blowing people’s minds with its stunning realism and unprecedented graphical showing and the much-anticipated Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion finally confirmed to be due out later this month, there are some true next-gen gems to get excited about at long last. Developed by Pseudo Interactive, Sega’s Full Auto has been another hotly-awaited original title for the 360 with its combination of Burnout-style arcade racing, vehicular combat and the most destructible game world ever created. But now that Full Auto has been released, does it live up to the hype? Well, the answer is both yes and no, as the game does deliver the blistering speed, remarkable sense of destruction and fun-filled gameplay experience the developers set out for, however in the end there just isn’t enough of a next-gen jump in terms of gameplay to overwhelmingly separate Full Auto from other current-gen arcade racers on the market.

Full Auto review:
+ There's a number of different modes/events available, and the support for multiplayer, online and off, is hearty. Like a Swanson dinner.+ Quite the stress-killer, and the ability to "combo up" to build up points, Turbo, and Unwreck time is very cool.+/- Full-on sound effects, such as explosions and heavy gunfire, are supported by a pretty weak soundtrack. But you can use your own tunes.

The game just has a one-dimensional feel that it never seems to shake, regardless of how many times you try to rewind time and fix it.

The game will smoothly rewind from the point of deadly impact or whatever other massive blunder you want to correct, taking on a sepia-tone visual effect. This way, you can finish off a rival driver before they get away, or get a second chance at hitting that ramp just right, landing you on a shortcut instead of crashing through your windshield.

Full Auto is a neat idea, but unfortunately it's just one neat idea, stretched across the entire game. And that wears thin pretty quickly.

If my foot wasn't bleeding and I wasn't still hungry, I wouldn't know to be more careful with my 6am feeding; Full Auto doesn't seem to understand that, and therein lies the problem.
