F.E.A.R. review: When you boil it all down it’s not quite as good as any of them. F.E.A.R.’s linear levels and mostly confined interiors (including too many identical offices by far) never allow it to feel like any more than a good, but low budget and small scale sci-fi schlock-horror, and its biggest problem is that there are a few genuine blockbusters around at the moment.

F.E.A.R. review: F.E.A.R. is a paranormal action thriller presented entirely in first person. It is an unprecedented adrenaline rush of close-quarters combat seamlessly melded with the spine-tingling, shocking intensity of the unknown.

F.E.A.R. review: E.A.R. was. I would have liked to see the recently released expansion pack for the 360, but maybe that is why we have the marketplace for such things. Overall, if you like FPS titles, you like your games pretty, and you like to be scared, then F.E.A.R. is right up your alley. Proceed with caution; you will wet yourself on this ride. -- Brian Peterson

F.E.A.R. review: Many of the areas look very similar, and you’ll quickly tire of wandering through warehouses and office buildings through most of the game. All these complaints seem more forgivable once you take over a turret and gun down a dozen foes. So, if you are looking for a shooter with some teeth to play in the dark, F.E.A.R. is definitely worth a try.
