Beowulf review:
Beowulf is a combat-driven action adventure game set in the realms of Nordic mythology. Arrogant, self-serving and lustful for gold and glory, as Beowulf you will journey to Denmark to destroy a bloodthirsty beast wreaking havoc on a frigid land.
Beowulf review:
Additionally, the challenges often bring fun tags like “save the virgins,” but they usually just add more frustration to the gameplay. In this day and age, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a game based on a movie fares poorly, but for a character who has survived since 700AD, he deserves better treatment than this.
Beowulf review:
That's not to say that Beowulf is entirely a rush job, and the clunk and roar of combat can be satisfying in parts. In the end, though, it's sadly little more than a dated, bog-standard hack and slash with misguided pretensions. The bottom line is that there are countless other games of this type around that are superior in every way.
