Personally, I have only had three games do this to me thus far - Halo, Ratchet and Clank, and Kingdom Hearts. In fact, Halo still captures my attention for hours on end countless weekends in the year. I am proud to add another game to my short little list: Voodoo Vince. Is it hot in here or is it me?

While this title may only ever have real appeal to fans of the platform genre everything Beep! Industries set out to achieve they succeeded in. Finally the Xbox has a cute and cuddly mascot that will no doubt drive sales again this Christmas period. And for once, it actually deserves it.

In short, Voodoo Vince is one of the better platform titles out there (especially for the Xbox) and is definitely worthy of a purchase. Vince would be hurt if you didn't purchase his game... and his pain, is your pain. Think about it.

Also, to eventually increase your overall health, there is a succession of blue vials to collect. Every time you pick up 100 of them you're rewarded with an extra health icon. On top of that, Vince is rewarded for cleaning up each level of Voodoo Pages, which are scattered around in obscure nooks.

As we mentioned in the first impressions, there's an air of Day Of The Tentacle about the early part of the game, and this exaggerated Toon factor carries on throughout the game - albeit with the requisite change of scenery.

The short completion time and puzzle solving nix much of the replay value leaving Voodoo Vince as an ideal weekend rental and not much more. Vince’s future is still bright and I personally can’t wait to see what pain he manages to inflict upon himself next.
