Everything positive that has been added to Showdown doesn't do anything to counteract the mechanical, artificial intelligence and visual problems that plague much of the game.

Showdown: Legends of Wrestling had the potential of being a classic game for the ages. Instead, we get a hastily thrown-together game, packed with glitches and plenty of lackluster features. Acclaim really blew it. Don't bother even renting this one. Hopefully a sequel is put together and becomes what everyone hoped this game would be in the first place.

Wrestling has surpassed all other sports entertainment in popularity, with the combination of creative characters, over the top antics, farfetched storylines, and some of the best fake fighting the world has to offer, society has been mesmerized. King Kong Bundy, Rick Rude, Jack the Snake, The Animal, these guys are some of the most memorable characters in a lot of peoples minds. What better way to celebrate these awesome gladiators than by making a videogame devoted to them? With the Legends of Wrestling series that Acclaim has made, fans get the chance to play as their favorite wrestlers of yesteryear. Showdown: Legends of Wrestling adds more mayhem to the mix, but this might be the games major downfall.
