Rainbow Six: Lockdown review:
These cool features would be a terrible waste if the gameplay wasn’t there, but there are no worries on that front. Basically, think of it like Rainbow Six 3 (which was fantastic), but tweaked and better. I dare anyone to put some time into learning the maps and modes, leveling up their avatar, and argue that this is anything but one of the best online titles on consoles.

In this new episode, you lead Team Rainbow, the world's most elite counter-terrorist unit, as they are called into action and unfamiliar territory to battle a bioterrorist threat. Stakes escalate as they are personally targeted by an evil terrorist organization. Used to protecting the lives of others, Team Rainbow must now embark on a mission to fight and save some of their own.

If you're not much of an online gamer then pick up the older, cheaper, better Rainbow Six III or Black Arrow, but otherwise, online gamers can't really go wrong with Lockdown. Next time though, Red Storm, we won't tolerate such a lopsided offering; we know you can do so much better than this.(add extra marks if you're playing online)

What does get lost, however, is the story, a spy-thriller hodgepodge mainly told through pre-mission briefings. That’s never been a good way to tell a story; you would think that Tom Clancy, of all people, would know how to inject some story into the action. But alas, you are told to “get the hostages” and hear nothing else until you’ve indeed gotten the hostages.
