Metal Slug 3 review:
The visuals may be a bit outdated and the difficulty levels may get to some, but you can't deny the game's charm which should be enough to warrant a weekend rental.

Metal Slug 3 review:
As I finished writing this I noticed that Metal Slug 4 & 5 are due out in January on a single disc for both PS2 and Xbox in addition to Metal Slug Advance which should be out in mid August. While most fans prefer earlier games, it will be a treat to see these awesome arcade shooters make it to home consoles.

Metal Slug 3 review:
Never before has a title demonstrated quite so elegantly that next generation graphics will always come second to gameplay in the hunt for that perfect game. Pop this game into your Xbox and we dare you not to be hooked, that’s if you’re not already blinded into thinking a game plays only as good as it looks.

Metal Slug 3 review:
You can pick a direction depending on whether you want to take an easy path, or go for a high score. If you do manage to rack up the points, you can update the leaderboard over X-Box Live for some global competition. The levels are wonderful examples of quality over quantity. Newcomers might scoff ...

Metal Slug 3 review:
The sheer activity of violence on the screen at once would be staggering. Add to ManRoom?Side-scroller fan Xbox owners, this is it. Your prayers have been answered. Metal Slug 3 is the epitome of old fashioned 2D perfection and a must own for any ManRoom owner with an appreciated for the genre. As for myself, I have a long ways to go to board that mothership so wish me luck.

Metal Slug 3 review:
Once upon a time … big companies like Konami, Capcom and SNK battled each other for the control over 2D gaming. With the rise of 3D graphics, the classic 2D genres, such as platformers, shooters and fighting games, were quickly adapted into the 3D universe or progressively faded in popularity to become the market known as ‘hardcore gaming’.

Metal Slug 3 review:
Without a doubt, Metal Slug 3 is worth a rental, but if the words “2D”, “Shooter”, “Metal Slug” or “NeoGeo” don't stir anything within you, then it probably won't be your kind of thing.

Metal Slug 3 review:
Arcade ports are coming back into fashion. Recently OutRun 2 showed that arcade ports can still be quality games and with extra additions can avoid the possibility of a lack of longevity and gameplay. One of the most famous arcade series is Metal Slug, a game from SNK which really does not follow the traditional game mechanics and somehow still remains to be one of the most popular and famous arcade franchises around. Metal Slug 3 has come to the Xbox and while it may not offer the lengthiest gaming experience around, while it does last it offers some great gaming.
