Iron Phoenix review:
It’s probably no secret to many of you out there that game development is in no way an easy job. I‘m reminded of this fact every time I do research on a game I’m interested in- that’s part of why I love doing what I do. I come from an art background, and with a few major and minor projects under my belt, I can appreciate a creative work from a number of different angles some might miss. Seeing code in development from early playable form to finished retail product is a complete joy for me when a game starts coming into its own, and even if the final version isn‘t everything it should have been, the game is still special, warts and all. Iron Phoenix fits into this description perfectly. The game was a complete blast to play through when I first laid hands on a controller at a Gamer’s Nite Groove event last year, and even more of a blast shortly thereafter at the DigitalLife show here in New York City. To a good extent, it’s still a great deal of fun, but you’ll need to have an Xbox Live account and/or a System Link setup, plus some reliable friends to get the most out of it.
Iron Phoenix review:
+ Beautifully packed with multiplayer options, offline and with Xbox Live.+ Gameplay is mostly engaging, especially with Team Kills and aerial maneuvers.+/- Most of the arenas look fantastic, and animation's okay, but the frame rate seems kinda jumpy- even offline.+/- The sound effects and soundtrack are mostly on target, but a couple of tracks seem a bit off.
Iron Phoenix preview:
All in all, Iron Phoenix looks to be one hell of a blast. It will be most interesting to find out how well it's accepted by the gaming community. We sure as hell approve, and are as ready as ever to deal death later this week. What about you, novice?By,Rami Abdoch
