What about new weapons, and will the old ones be changed in any way? Griesemer continues: "We're taking some of the old weapons and making them a little more nuanced. We're introducing new weapons of course, but we're really adding layers of use to all these weapons. And most of the stuff you use, you'll see the Marines using too."

If Bungie can learn the lessons of last time around, and pace the game in a more satisfying manner, then this sequel has all the making of an era defining classic. Although we realise this is only a trailer, it did seem to represent actual gameplay, rather than some spurious collection of cut scenes like so many we have seen lately. With Xbox Live in there out of the box, we can't bloody wait.

This says more about how far ahead the original was than anything, but from the multiplayer demo, all we could ascertain was that the damage modelling has received a huge amount of attention to detail, and apart from being fantastic to look at, also matters a great deal during the mass melees.

From the looks of it, this game will be just as good as the first Halo and probably even better. The screenshots already look incredible, the graphics are topnotch and well detailed. Whether the game will revolutionize the genre (like the first game), will have to be seen, but from the E3 demo it looks like this game is definitely a game to get.
