Neversoft has shown that it knows how to craft good gameplay through its Tony Hawk series. But with Gun, the developer also drew on its experience while also focusing in on the details that make a game stand out and grab people in order to create an adventure that is worth playing.

Calling this shooter a GTA in a Wild West setting would not do it justice, as it serves up a thrilling experience with an engaging story and solid combat.

GUN really is a game that had no hype behind it until the last few months and perhaps that’s how it should always be. Neversoft have shaken off the shackles of the skateboarding genre and while they will continue to produce those, it is clear that they are a developer with a bright future, especially if GUN is anything to go by.
