Fight Club review: For any fan of either Chuck Palahniuk or David Fincher, the thought of a game based on something like Fight Club could be either a nightmare or a gift. The psuedo-philosophical subject matter of the novel offered up a new outlook on life for the late Gen-X crowds. While the novel was well received for its satirical nature and incredible descriptions of a world influenced by the male primal instinct for violence and survival, the movie was panned by critics. Luckily, it found a niche audience with a transcription to DVD, and the movie lives on in every pre-pubescent teen and young adult looking for rebellion and freedom from tyranny. Therefore, it sounds like a game based on Fight Club could be a good thing. However, Genuine Games and Vivendi Universal have only released a mediocre fighter that offers up little more than a weekend rental and a washcloth for your wounds.

Fight Club review: The first rule of Fight Club is that you buy something else as the list of things you'd be better off doing for £40 would fill an A4 notebook. Buying two copies of the DVD is tops and second is blow the money on a crate of Jelly Tots and not let your sugar coated mind be tainted by yet another appalling console conversion.

Fight Club review: Though it came out in 1999, the film version of Chuck Palahniuk’s great novel will always be a classic with its twisting backstory, cutting-edge style, and revolutionary themes. The game, however, manages to ignore the wealth of inspiration provided by the license and breaks its face by being a gritless, witless, brainless brawler.
