Close Combat: First To Fight review: It does have its good points; it contains a pretty decent co-operative mode complete with the clan building functions we have all come to expect from Xbox Live. The single player mode is short but does offer up an interesting challenge for anyone wanting a little more tactics from their FPS.

Close Combat: First To Fight review: Rather it will stand as a poorly implemented projectthat could have been a contender had it been given a little more time in thestudio. Desperately lacking that all-too crucial breathing space for refinement,First to Fight is a sadly mediocre title which, somehow, lost its way on thejourney from concept development to store shelves. Rental advised.

Close Combat: First To Fight review: It could have used the sort of attention and polish at the testing stage that Marines give their dress uniforms – if that had been the case we might have been talking about a new team shooter Xbox Live classic.

Close Combat: First To Fight review: Still, if you’re like me, and you already played those other ones to death, then it’s nice to know that there are other options out there.Close Combat: First to Fight won’t go down in videogame history as the best shooter around, but for the most part, it’s a solid action game with only a few unfortunate flaws.

Close Combat: First To Fight review: Being a huge fan of the Close Combat series I must say that although I was looking forward to this game, I was rather disappointed with its final results. The game is not a bad outing by any standards, but it also just doesn't have the depth nor the sure fire power to hang with the other big boys that are already on the Xbox. It is worthwhile? Yes, but only if you are a fan of the series or in dire need of a decent squad-based shooter. Otherwise it makes for a solid rental.
