I can honestly say that this is the best racing game I have ever played and the bar has been set so high that it will take a lot to knock Burnout 3 off the top spot. So without further delay, get yourself to the store and buy Burnout 3. You will thank me right after you take your Tuned Coupe into a crowded intersection and cause an accident that would make worldwide headlines.

Electronic Arts lit some kind of fire under Criterion’s rear resulting in a natural game of the year candidate. This is the experience Midtown Madness hinted at but never quite reached. This is digitized vehicular annihilation and video game design at its best.

Burnout 3: Takedown review:
Since it's inception in 2002, there's no game on the market that can match Burnout 3's magnificent sense of speed, and this is clearly evident once you use your boost meter. The sense of speed in the game is executed well by the fast-frame rate and blur effects which are used superbly with the main context and the overall look of the game.

Racing games are ten-a-penny these days (as they always have been), but you could safely trade in every quirky, bland, adrenaline-less title that you've ever owned (the previous Burnouts included) for one copy of Burnout 3 and not feel short-changed. An essential title in every sense of the word.

There are already bucket-loads of buzz and hype surrounding this game, fed by both the electronic and printed media, and on some deep-rooted level that disturbs me. I was initially going to do my best to take a deep breath, ignore the tingling in my hands, the grin on my face and my compulsive need to skip working, eating and sleeping to play this game more.
