Arena Football review:
Heck, even Midway’s Blitz series at least gives you some room to move in its over-the-top action. Still, technically speaking, Arena Football is a solid offering at only $30, and fans of the sport should be very happy with their purchase. But for anyone new to the sport, they may be better served trying before buying to see if learning a bunch of new rules is more trouble than it is worth.

You could use the argument that the game is only $30 and that you can't ask for too much with such a reduced price point. The problem is that EA Sports recently released MVP NCAA 06 for the same amount, and it's a much better baseball game than Arena Football is a football game. Arena Football review:
You're able to take control of a receiver at the line of scrimmage, an interesting feature in theory, but I found that running custom routes didn't work out, as the AI Quarterback would still toss it according the original play route. It's also not a good idea to rely on the Coach's pick when selecting your play--the selections are awful, such as running plays in third and long situations.

+ Has some vicious tackles and offensive plays to its credit, and the telemetry system is a sharp innovation. Let's see it in future games.+/- Doesn't look terrible, as it tries to emulate the look of real AFL action, but it looks a bit rushed in comparison to the Madden games.+/- Season mode will provide satisfaction for AFL fans, but fails to perk up any interest for other players.
