Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
Though the Dreamcast itself didn’t survive long once the PS2’s dominance took hold, there were a ton of top-notch games for the system that still rank high in the hearts and minds of hardcore gamers everywhere. Among them all, Sega’s Virtua Tennis and subsequent sequel, Sega Sports Tennis 2K2, which eventually ported to the PS2 simply as Sega Sports Tennis, come to mind as personal favorites that will forever go down as all-time classics, and I know I’m only one of a massive fan following the Virtua Tennis series has garnered over the years. Oddly, it has been a good few years since Sega took to the courts with its beloved brand of arcade tennis, which made it all the more exciting and gratifying when they announced at long last the series was making its anticipated return, in portable form no less in Virtua Tennis: World Tour for the PSP.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
This PS2 tennis game port plays superbly on the handheld, with all the current players and tons of game modes. Online play would have been perfect, but not a cause for complaints.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
Multiplayer is what really makes this game take off, so see if you can track down three friends who own a PSP and a copy of the game. That shouldn't be too hard.Virtua Tennis: World Tour is one of the best PSP games of the year. It's definitely a party favorite, and I hope Sega keeps the tempo up for future franchises.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour preview:
Four-player is really where this game's at because it's a fantastic party experience. From what I played, Virtua Tennis: World Tour is an absolute must-purchase. We'll have a final verdict on the game once it's released next month, but you can expect high marks. And I don't even play tennis!

This familiarity, though, is only a hindrance to a select few, and it certainly doesn't prevent Virtua Tennis: World Tour from ranking up there with the best tennis games on any platform.

It's more of the same, but that doesn't stop Virtua Tennis: World Tour from ranking with some of the best tennis games on any platform.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
If there's one knock on world tour mode, it's that it doesn't offer much more than previous incarnations of this series. It's still a great time, and the main draw of the game whether you're a seasoned pro or playing digital tennis for the first time. However, I could fire up Virtua Tennis on GBA and get basically the same experience -- it just wouldn't look as pretty or have as many buttons.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
It’s not a major issue, but it’s worth noting and is a slight annoyance.Regardless of that, and the rather mediocre World Tour mode, this is a truly fantastic game, which plays just like it did in the Arcades and on the Dreamcast all those years ago. If you enjoyed it then, you’ll still love it now, it’s a superb tennis game, and definitely worth picking up for your PSP.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour preview:
In it, players create their own tennis professional from scratch, scraping and clawing their way through the ranks of the playing field. Along the way, players will earn extra cash to purchase everything from player upgrades which improve performance, to stylish apparel so your character can look good on the court.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
If you want to play a tennis game on your PSP, this is the best choice possible. Aside from the difficulty of setting up a multiplayer game, it's one of the best tennis games around. How good it is depends entirely on how much you want to play a tennis game on your PSP.

Virtua Tennis: World Tour review:
As good as it is, there’s still room for improvement: multi-player mini-games, more players, and more unlockables are must-haves for the eventual sequel. Also, the load times are reasonable, though there are occasional noticeable stutters here and there. If you’ve got even a passing interest in videogame tennis, then Virtua Tennis should be one of the next games you buy for your PSP.
