Tokobot review:
The rare rough patches (wonky translation, some overly tricky jumping puzzles) aren't enough to keep it from greatness, and are more than made up for by the game's charm and style. Add in a post-game time trial mode to keep things going after the main story is complete and Tokobot is a little slice of platform puzzle heaven. Buy. It. Now.

Tokobot review:
Here's hoping they'll do better with the sequel, if there is one, and produce a game with real charm, inventive level designs and plenty of fast-paced action - the game Tokobot should have been, in other words.

Tokobot review:
Leave it to Tecmo to take the platform idea and combine it with a unique way of playing and navigating the levels. The best way to describe Tokobot would be to say that it resembles a cross between a puzzle-style platformer with Nintendo’s Pikmin series of games. Instead of aimlessly wandering around levels, blowing everything to bits as what you’d find in many of today’s platformers, Tokobot puts you in charge of 6 tiny robots that you have complete (well, almost complete) control over and you must find a way to use these Tokobots’ many moves in order to successfully navigate the many puzzle-laden levels set before you. While it might sound simple, the game manages to offer up a solid, yet enjoyable challenge to go along with its unique approach.

Tokobot review:
Tecmo produces a light-hearted and quirky action platformer that charms us with its simple but highly strategic combat and adorable characters.

Tokobot review:
I think that if you play this game, you should be prepared to be frustrated quite a bit when things don't move quite the way you expect them to, or that the camera is not looking properly at the mean enemy robots you are trying to defeat along your adventures. But I suppose that with a lot of time and practice, you can master the moves better - only to have to learn new moves later! - Minna Kim Mazza, Grrlgamer.com

Tokobot review:
While I wouldn’t exactly call the PSP a kid’s system (ha!), Sony’s handheld could use a few more titles with cute characters and bright, colorful environments to break up all the gritty urban action, sports and racing games that have filled the library in its first year of life. Fortunately, Tecmo has a nifty original game called Tokobot that not only fills the cute niche nicely, but is one of the better platform games on the PSP to date. Starting with a basic video game staple (the young adventurer out to prove his worth, et cetera), Tokobot’s big gimmick is the multi-function faction follwing our young hero. In English: Bolt finds many uses for the super handy little robots in his travels. The game doesn’t quite go all the way in terms of giving you complete freedom in using your little friends, but there’s more than enough cool stuff here to warrant a sequel or home console version with new additions.

Tokobot review:
The controls and camera need a little work and the supporting cast (as well as the Tokobots) could use some kind of personality outside of being cute and/or evil. Still, Tecmo has released the game at a $30 MSRP, making it cheaper than most PSP titles to date and it is worth supporting at that price.
