This is an excellent racing game that will provide you with hours of fun, amazing graphics and great music. The quick race is always a good way to accompany you while waiting for an appointment, for the bus to arrive, or even in the bathroom.

Many races have you driving alone once you take the lead with only text to keep you apprised of the other racers’ misadventures. It just fails to capture the urgency of the console versions to a degree that I wish they’d left the cop angle out entirely.

The pace of the game does start slow for the first few racers on the blacklist, but once you start to win races and are able to upgrade your ride, the game quickly ramps up the speed and difficulty and provides for some fantastic racing action. That is, until the cops arrive and ruin all the fun, literally.

You’ll certainly have a better time playing this game on a big console, but if the PSP is your system of choice then you could do worse. Just make sure you have already finished Burnout Legends before you cross the cop-infested city limits of Rockport.

Still, Underground fans will feel right at home as you can make various applications to your vehicle such as the rims, suspension, tires, nitro, body paint and more. The game also touts a more urban, grittier tone - elements that EA has long since established as the new black for their racing games.
