Will it keep me from playing it on the road if I get bored with Hot Shots Golf? Probably not. I'll lumber through the story trying to find dude's sister and fighting against the darkness. Will this game leave a permanent impression on me. Let's just say I'll remember Final Fantasy on the Super Nintendo far longer than I'll remember this game. Exhibiting a mix of old-school RPG gameplay mechanics with a slightly updated visual presentation, not to mention an enormous 40+ hour quest, Legend of Heroes attempts to bring the console quality RPG experience home to the portable PSP system. But can this game possibly live up to the mammoth expectations it's had heaped upon it over the past few months and somehow deliver the knockout RPG punch fans have been desperately searching for?

None of its flaws are great enough that you’ll fail to enjoy the game, but given that the developers took so few risks when developing the game, it would have been nice for the game to have been polished to perfection. As long as you don’t expect great things – you’ll enjoy Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion.

Legend Of Heroes: A Tear Of Vermillion preview:
Legend of Heroes isn’t going to be a big system seller, but it’s going to make a lot of RPG-craving PSP owners happy. Since it’s easy to pick up and play, and you can save anywhere, it’s enjoyable in short spurts; but its deep story and huge world also make it suitable for extended gaming sessions as well. We’ll have a full review of the game when it comes out next week.
