Gretzky NHL 06 review:
Gretzky NHL 06 walks along a fine line. As an arcade version of hockey, it doesn’t really succeed in going all out. Nonetheless, despite a longing for more responsive gameplay, I enjoyed Gretzky NHL 06. If you’re a hockey fan, it is a pretty worthwhile purchase especially since it doesn’t really have competition on the PSP other than Sony’s own Gretzky NHL.

No bonus options, no heavy roster changes. It's just hockey at its simplest. With a bit more work, this game could've had the potential to be a true blockbuster. As is, this is just a sloppy and featureless product and I don't recommend it. Unless you're an absolute hockey zealot who needs to take their game on the road, pass on Gretzky NHL 06.

Gretzky NHL 06 review:
Passing is a mixed bag at best. After a few games, you'll figure out that icon-based passing is required for any modicum of success. That's a pretty cumbersome task for a game as fast-paced as Gretzky '06. Bring up icons, look at players, hit button. No thanks. Just make a game that sends the puck in the right direction when I push the stick near a guy and pass.
