Events will pop up out of nowhere, ignoring the state of the world around you completely, and then leave you to your next turn with no consequences whatsoever. Neither the narrative nor translation is top quality, so you may just want to turn off the cutscenes if you feel they're getting in the way. That, or just keep mashing the button to get on with things.
