Daxter review:
Daxter is a game that surprised us. It was always on the radar for PSP owners but the fact that it's not just a quick port of J&D surprised us. The developers have really put an effort into getting an original game and storyline on the system and it has really paid off. PSP fans finally have a humorous platform game worthy of play.

Daxter review:
Jak's loud sidekick gets his own gig, and it is one heck of a platformer. Lush visuals, solid gameplay and tight controls makes this one of PSP's best thus far.

Daxter review:
March certainly has come in like a lion for Sony’s PSP, with a bunch of great first and third-party titles hitting store shelves that really show off what the handheld can do. Some hardheaded skeptics made light of the system’s reliance on PS One-era franchises right from the launch, however it makes sense for any company to go with familiar licenses to draw longtime fans. It’s what’s been done with these familiar titles and characters on the PSP that’s truly remarkable. Take Daxter for example. Developer Ready at Dawn could have taken the easy route, slapping the character in a simple 3D game that catered to the younger gamers out there without regard for the other games in the lineage. Fortunately, they’re well versed enough in Naughty Dog’s Jak universe to have made a spectacular looking and downright hilarious game starring the always in trouble ottsel. Daxter is a true showpiece for the PSP in every way; a technical wonder that’s a blast to play and one of the best reasons to run out and buy a PSP if you haven’t done so already.

Daxter review:
But even with these minor issues, the game is still an awesome experience. If anything, that should be a testament to just how fun it is. If I had to hold one thing against Daxter (and Ready at Dawn) it’s that they raised the bar so high that it’s probably going to be a while before there is another PSP title that reaches this level of quality. -- Mike Palermo

Daxter review:
Daxter will be known for being the first PSP game to really set the bar for visuals. Aside from looking great, the gameplay is very cohesive and tight, and though it doesn’t venture too far from the typical Jak and Daxter formula, it’s hard to complain when the game is this good.

Daxter review:
Ready at Dawn has some talent as a developer and it'll be interesting to see if they ever tackle a game of their own design, but for now they can be commended for their excellent work on Daxter. Fans of the genre really need to pick this game up. Even if you aren't, the accessibility and fun factor make it worthy of anyone's money.
