Burnout Legends review: Get ready to Takedown notes, as Gaz reviews the pocketable incarnation of the crash classic. With apologies for the pun.

Burnout Legends review: But some of the tracks are out in the open, providing no sense of speed at all. Burnout Legends is at its best when it places you in a constrained track where you’re able to run for a few seconds and get speed and really get a sense of that speed. Of course, then a mediocre crash happens, you lose all the speed, and are thrown out in the open. That ruins it.

Burnout Legends review: Many of the game modes are very addictive. The graphics are superb, especially for a handheld game, and all of the tracks and cars are designed well. Many games lose out on gameplay when the graphics get better or vice-versa, but Burnout Legends is not one of them. Although the game is a bit lacking in different genres of music, there are plenty of well done sound effects to accompany the racing. Burnout Legends is definitely one of those games you don't want to miss!

Burnout Legends review: Burnout Legends sets the bar for on-the-go automotive anarchy, combining the series' trademark speed, destruction and depth with new PSP-only features, gameplay refinements and connectivity. Gamers can look forward to eight gameplay modes, including crash, road rage and pursuit, with white-knuckle multiplayer via WiFi, and a GameShare option allowing players to wirelessly share a demo level of the game with friends.

Burnout Legends review: It is, for all practical purposes, another collection of challenges and tracks that fans have already played over and over again. The interesting bit is that it builds on such a well-designed franchise tweaked to near-perfection that its rehash status matters very little. New or not, this is the best that racing experience that the PSP currently has to offer.

Burnout Legends review: Fact is, we like Burnout games because they're big and shiny and fast and loud and fundamentally ridiculous. Burnout Legends is all of these things, in portable form, and so we like it an awful lot. If you like big, shiny, fast, loud and ridiculous racing games too, this is an essential addition to your collection.

Burnout Legends review: Fans of the Burnout series will be hard pressed not to be impressed by what was crammed into such a small disc. New fans of the series who are maybe trying Burnout Revenge for the first time can finally see what all the hoopla is about. In two words…BUY IT! -- Brian Peterson

Burnout Legends review:   Even with the snags the game is more than deserving of a purchase. Oh, and  if you can’t convince your buddy that Burnout is the best thing since a chop-top, EA even threw in a game share mode that uploads a single race to your friend’s PSP and lets them race until the power down. This is a no-brainer. Go buy it already.

Burnout Legends review: As in its console predecessors, Burnout Legends features an astonishing number of modes. Race, Eliminator, Face-Off and Burning Lap all make an appearance. Pursuit puts you in a cop car with one objective: taking out the target car. Grand Prix has you race on a series of tracks, collecting points for an overall win and ultimately unlock a new car class.

Burnout Legends review: This handheld port offers the usual thrills, but ultimately nothing new.
