Wild Arms 4 review:
After I finished the game, I felt a huge emptiness. It's always hard for me to say goodbye to games that I wholeheartedly love and enjoy every single minute of. Wild ARMs 4 is a beautiful game and I think that anyone who likes this series will fall for this game too, so do enjoy it while it lasts. - Lania S., Grrlgamer.com

Wild Arms 4 review:
Kids won’t have trouble following anything in Wild Arms 4 and it’s probably the first RPG since Pokemon that’s appealed to kids in the mainstream.Wild Arms 4 has brought some new things to the RPG genre but nothing will seem particularly ground-breaking or challenging to the seasoned RPG nut; this one’s definitely for the kids, folks.

This fairly unspectacular Japanese RPG fails to make much of an impression.

Wild Arms 4 review:
But should such calculating mediocrity be continually excused? Perhaps it's time for the critical honesty this game continually calls for in its awkward and unstoppable meting out of prepubescent morality.

The fourth in the series continues with what works, featuring standard turn-based RPG conventions, with a bit more twist and strategy in combat.

Wild Arms 4 review:
Overall, though, Wild Arms 4 is a fairly enjoyable RPG. It's going to slip under the radar for most people, but it is worth the effort. It's a lot of fun to play due to the battle system and dungeon mechanics and even though it wanders too far into the realm of role-playing stereotypes at times, the plot and characters are reasonably enjoyable.

Wild Arms 4 review:
It’s a weird mix of quality and the unevenness undoubtedly hurts it.Wild Arms 4 offers enough novelty to make it worthwhile to RPG fans in general even if you weren’t interested in the series before. Though it changed a lot since the previous games, fans of the series will be right at home. The game strikes a good balance of old and new.

Wild Arms 4 review:
Before Final Fantasy VII ever released to its worldwide critical acclaim, the first game in the hit Wild ARMs RPG series rocked PSOne owners with a console role-playing experience that set the bar for future 3D RPGs. Even though FFVII came along and stole its thunder (and deservedly so), Wild ARMs made its mark at the time, and still to this day it is loved and remembered by many diehard RPG fans as one of the best ever. Unfortunately, the impressive benchmark set by the original title wasn’t fully capitalized on with the subsequent releases of the mediocre-in-comparison second and third iterations in the series (although they were still good in their own right). Coming shortly after late last year’s Wild ARMs Alter Code: F, a PS2 remake of the first game, brand new publisher XSEED Games has made its publishing debut with the release of the series’ true fourth installment, Wild ARMs 4, and in this 10th-aniversary year for the franchise long-time Wild ARMs developer Media Vision has delivered a rock solid RPG that is the best game in the series since the original.

Wild Arms 4 review:
Wild Arms 4 is really THE reincarnation of the whole Wild Arms series. Compared to the last two sequels, Wild Arms 4 really outshines them and brings new life to the genre.

Wild Arms 4 review:
+ The HEX Battle system actually has some good ideas behind it, and can make for some interesting battles against stronger enemies.+ Both the environments and the storyline stray off the beaten path in terms of creativity and even modern-day issues. Very different.+/- The platforming elements probably won't appeal to everyone, but I myself found them to be a hearty addition to the battle system.

Wild Arms 4 review:
In the end, even though I have great respect for the combat system Wild ARMS 4 employs, the game just has too many flaws to bring it above average. Perhaps we’ll see it all come together better in the next edition of the franchise. Until then, it’s only a sliver-above-dead-average C+ score for Wild ARMs 4.Questions? Comments? Wild Arms 4 review:
When combat begins, the battlefield divides into seven hexagons, and you and your enemies are randomly placed in them. Your party members can share a hex with each other, although enemies and party members cannot enter the same hex together. You can only perform some skills against adjoining hexes; others are effective in any hex; while others can affect the hex opposite of the party member.

Wild Arms 4 is largely a standard by-the-book role-playing game, but the unique battle system and other touches still make it a worthy journey.
