Trapt review: Surely there is a market out there for this kind of game to be made featuring Itchy and Scratchy? Telephone call for Mr Groening…. A game based on the creation of ingenious and deadly traps sounds like a novel and interesting premise, sadly the execution proves to be the equivalent of being slowly buried alive.

Trapt review: Tecmo's sadistic puzzler has a great premise, but it's squandered with poor presentation.

Trapt review: Being different from the herd is one thing - and something this game scores bonus marks on the back of - but Trapt falls down in so many other areas that matter that it ends up being one of those curiosities that only truly committed gamers will want to buy. We'd advise a rental, but that's if you can even track it down.

Trapt review: Ultimately, Trapt mixes good doses of strategy and action in a unique type of gameplay that will lead you to think you're not such a nice person after all. Yes, because for the sadistic gamer in all of us, there's Trapt. For everyone else, there will always be other games. - Didi Cardoso, Grrlgamer.com

Trapt review: That is perhaps why Deception has always remained a strictly cult series – its mechanics clearly are not enough to make it a hit phenomenon, but are appealing enough to a core group of gamers. If the idea of Trapt tickles your fancy, it's probably worth a shot, but the shortcomings in almost every area make it hard to recommend to most.

Trapt review: Equal parts action and strategy, Trapt features a unique system that lets players set a variety of traps throughout each level to create intense combinations that burn, maim, skewer, electrocute, fling, confuse, pulverize and eventually obliterate Princess Allura’s attackers.

Trapt review: Setting traps and luring your enemies to their doom is a brilliant idea, but Tecmo doesn't build on that with more gameplay variety.

Trapt review: Laying traps and then watching them hurt people equals a unique but average good time. Not stupendous, not horrendous...just, average.

Trapt review: + Plenty of traps to set, some of which are just downright naughty.+ The story isn't especially deep but I like it, and the voice acting is quite good.+ Allura is a good main character. Her innocence is striking as well as dangerous. - Despite the decent selection of traps, they all start to look the same after a while.- The AI can be pretty brainless.
