Rule Of Rose review: It will surely offend a lot of people, but that’s for each player to decide for themselves. The soundtrack is innovative and one of my favorites since Voodoo Vince (another example of an unusual score really helping the experience). But piss-poor fighting can break all of this unique vibe and, in the case of Rule of Rose, I think it did.

Rule Of Rose review: Rule of Rose is a creepy looking survival/horror game set in the 1930's England. You are 19 year old Jennifer, and stumble into a world where the rules are written by children, seemingly innocent children, but with a sadisctic mindset. Your job is to get to the truth, solve puzzles & mysteries.
Yahoo! Games reviews
Rule Of Rose review: This survival horror game trades typical zombies for a pack of sadistic children, but its compelling premise and creepy atmosphere only partly make up for the mostly bland gameplay.

Gaming Age reviews
Rule Of Rose review: If scores really matter, this is a tough one to grade. The wonderful atmosphere and story make you want to progress through the game to find out what the hell is going on, but as a video game, there are no worthy merits to mention. Since we are not a literary or theatrical resource, then I am only qualified to say that this is not a very good game.-- Travis Dwyer
GameSpot previews
Rule Of Rose preview: This Japanese survival horror game is set to arrive in the UK in October, and we get a first look at its chilling storyline.

Rule Of Rose review: Since that isn’t the case, I’ll only recommend it if you’re in for a frightening mind freak of a game. Survival horror junkies will probably find a lot to love, but there isn’t enough here to recommend it to anyone else. Author: Jeremy Peeples   aka: Jeremy

Rule Of Rose preview: Later, a ventilation duct coming out of the wall is turned into an elephant's trunk by a surrounding doodle. A couple of hours in, the game shifts locales to an extremely unlikely place where looking out a window will lead to a strange revelation. The originality and effort put into the visuals makes it clear that Rule of Rose plans on doing things a little differently than you may be used to.
