R-Type Final review:
I. Battle mode and Score Attack modes will keep tactical fans busy after completing the single player game. There were a few things that got on my nerves about the game, but I expect I am in the minority on these issues. All in all it's a welcome addition to the shooter genre and will find a nice home in many gamer's libraries even if I am not one of those people.

R-Type Final review:
Controls are again sensible, in fact the whole thing is so user friendly in a supremely challenging way. There is an overwhelming ‘just one more game’ feel to what IREM have produced and there are fewer and fewer games around that engender such playability and long-term interest. Every self respecting PS2 collection should have a copy of this game in it.

With many series from the 80’s experiencing a rebirth, it’s noteworthy that one, R-Type, is saying goodbye. Brought to North America by Eidos’ “Fresh Games” label,...

R-Type Final review:
If you are a fan of side scrolling shooters from thedays of old, this game does the genre much justice. This game is bargain pricednew at $29.99, which is great news as well. If this is the "Final"R-Type, then it is indeed left in good light.

R-Type Final review:
It’s rare to see newer games that play like the original. Contra recently did it with Shattered Soldier, and looks to repeat that with Neo Contra. Other than that, the list is slim to none. R-Type Final pulls this off, keeping the same game play elements that have made this series a classic and adding beautiful graphics into the mix. Unfortunately though, this is the last R-Type game to be released, hence the name Final. A disappointment, yes, but at least R-Type isn’t going down without a fight, and what a fight it is.
