Guitar Hero review:
I'm not much of a rhythm and music games fan, and I have never even held a guitar in my entire life. So what crossed my mind to want to play Guitar Hero? Simple: the music. There's nothing like some good rock and metal soundtrack.
I was actually expecting to be a complete disaster, considering I am very rhythm-impaired. I mean, seriously, I never even managed to learn how to play the piano because I couldn't coordinate both hands and now I'm trying to play a guitar game? "Let the humiliation begin" I thought as my husband handed me the guitar controller and I struggled figuring out how to hold it right. Oddly enough, my first attempt didn't go half as bad as I would expect, aside from laughing at the weird sounds coming from the missed notes, causing even more missed notes.

Guitar Hero review:
So, to sum up, a hugely entertaining game, and in fairness, one that has little competition in the West, but one that deserves to do very well. If you’re looking for some genuine fun and thrills, and something a bit different – you cannot afford to look any further than this! Even If you will look a bit of a plonker with your plastic guitar!!

Guitar Hero review:
Perhaps there may be a follow up disc featuring slightly different genres – it’d be good to get some of the current crop of guitar bands in there or maybe a few of the indie hits of a decade or so ago. Again it’s all personal preference and it doesn’t deviate from the fact that this title rocks.

And if there's one thing you ought to get out the biographical bits of this review, it's that you really, really don't need to have any guitar skill or "rock pedigree" to become a Guitar Hero. So you're fine, even if your life's as embarrassing as mine. Rock!

The truly great thing about Guitar Hero is just how realistic it does feel in the end. You really do get a sense that you’re the one playing the guitar even if you’re just pushing five buttons and hitting a strum bar.

Guitar Hero review:
Anyone who can clear all 30 songs (and bonus tracks) on Extreme mode should clearly have no problem playing the real thing like Hendrix himself. Just don't set fire to the guitar afterwards, eh?In summary? I know it's only Rock and Roll, but I like it. Goes to 11, certainly (what did you expect?). Out of ten, the serious beardy rock critic says:

Guitar Hero review:
It’s a little pricey, and it gets quite expensive if you’re looking to pick up a second guitar controller for some two-player action, but it’s worth every penny. If you have even a passing interest in music games it’s worth picking up – it’s a great game.

Guitar Hero review:
Guitar Hero ROCKS. There, I got that most cleverly obvious quote out of the way, now onward. Whether you’re in a big-name band with a PS2 in the back of the tour bus or an air-guitar god (or goddess) noodling away to the radio in the shower every morning, you absolutely need to get this game. Harmonix and Red Octane banged their heads together and came up with the best music game to date. Thanks to a great selection of essential rock tracks and an innovative guitar peripheral that makes everyone who sees it want to give the game a shot, the game’s appeal is much bigger than the usual 18-35 male market most games are targeted toward. For those of you who’ve played Konami’s Guitar Freaks and swear by it, Guitar Hero knocks that game off the charts and will have the more generous of you out there stocking up on extra copies of the game just to surprise the hell out of a fellow air-guitar genius.

Guitar Hero review:
Guitar Hero combines the best of rhythm game action with classic American music. The game puts you at center stage of your very own rock band, featuring unique characters, a selection of Gibson electric guitars to play and concert venues that grow in size as your music career progress. The title includes over 30 licensed rock songs including tracks originally made famous by such artists as Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie, Boston, Sum 41, Audioslave, White Zombie, Franz Ferdinand, and The Ramones.

Simply put, if you can get past the cost and, better yet, have a buddy armed with their own controller, you need to play Guitar Hero as soon as possible.

Guitar Hero review:
Guitar Hero is the single best addiction you can play on the PS2 this year…perhaps ever. Not only is it worth the $70 for the game/guitar combo, I’d go as far to say this game is worthy of purchasing a PS2 if you don’t already own one. From the moment you slip that guitar from the box, you’ll never want to put it down.

Guitar Hero review:
+ Provides some of the most electrifying gameplay in a rhythm/action game, thanks in part to a well-reacting peripheral.+ The interface is quite helpful, and provides a great rock atmosphere.+ The difficulty gets progressive, and the ability to get new guitars, characters, and behind-the-scenes goodies adds to the replay value.

Guitar Hero review:
As you progress, more songs are unlocked and the difficulty becomes much greater. If you play career mode on normal difficulty or higher, you earn cash from each gig (the better you do, the more you get), allowing you to purchase new goodies. Aside from new characters and songs, you can also buy new guitars and behind-the-scenes videos. These extras definitely make you want to earn more dough.

Guitar Hero review:
One player plays a part. Then the other player plays a part. Then both play together. There’s no baselines or harmonizing between the two. Regardless of the small knock on the letter grade, I give Guitar Hero my highest recommendation. By yourself or especially with a group of friends, this game is a blast. ::Gives metal:: Thank you, Gaming Age! Good night!-- Travis Dwyer

Guitar Hero plays fantastically, it has great music, and, for a change, it's a rhythm game that's accessible to beginners.
