This time around, SquareEnix is publishing the game and maybe hardcore Squenix fans will buy GIII for this fact only. Then there are the hardcore Grandia fans, that I'm sure will buy it with no questions asked and maybe these two groups can do that and live happily ever after. Vibrant, colorful, vast(-looking)... Grandia III is quite the sight. It's too bad the music doesn't stand out likewise. While it has some good tracks that hearken back to the past games, far too many are about as generic as aspirin. Voices are pretty good, however. A bit B-grade anime dubbish, but they get the job done.

It's unfortunate that despite the vastness showcased in some of these places, the player is restricted to a linear path, that sometimes branches off, but never allows for the full exploration of any environment. Nonetheless, it all looks quite beautiful. Backed by a wonderful, sweeping soundtrack and likable characters, Grandia III will be well worth your money when it releases in a couple weeks.
