Gauntlet Seven Sorrows review:
Seven Sorrows isn’t a terrible game – in fact you’ll probably enjoy it as a rental. The hack n’ slash genre has evolved quite a bit over the years, so people have come to expect more out of a game like this. If you can pick it up for under $20 it’s worth a look, but otherwise it’s just not worth a purchase.
Gauntlet Seven Sorrows review:
Sadly, while fun once through, the broken online component and repetitive design means this'll soon be consigned to a dusty game shelf never to be played again. That's if you can make it through the game without arguments - you see, if you'll just listen, you've got to go left, no, LEFT, UP, UP, KEEP GOING UP, WHAT, ARE YOU STUPID? OH FOR GOD'S SAKE, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO GO RIGHT NOW.
Gauntlet Seven Sorrows review:
One good thing in Seven Sorrows is the huge improvement in the game's graphics, but the fun stops in just a matter of hours because of the really really really short gameplay.
Gauntlet Seven Sorrows review:
The latest chapter in the 3D Gauntlet saga is about to arrive with Seven Sorrows, boasting a new combo-oriented battle system and a brand new storyline. You can play it solo, but the real way to experience the Seven Sorrows is to play it with up to three other friends. Take your party and hack your way through hordes of enemies to put an end to the evil men who betrayed the Emperor, and destroy the unnatural Seven Sorrows that plague the land.

On top of that, this isn’t 1985 anymore. It would have been nice to see developers explore new ideas and innovate a little more, rather than recycle very old ones. My recommendation to players wanting a good hack and slash game is to wait for the next Gauntlet and hope they learn from their mistakes, or purchase a copy of Champions of Norrath or Baldur’s Gate.

When this happens, you can increase either your health, damage, or mana regeneration. Gold earned will allow you to buy more attacks -- including some nasty ones pulled off by hitting directions on the d-pad. Since the game is so stingy on characters, it would've been nice to have more in the way of character customization.
