Flipnic truly has the potential to be great, but is dragged down by overly simplistic and sometimes frustrating objective based gameplay.

Sure, putting pinball into a videogame is much like taking a tennis racket to soccer practice, but Capcom has managed to join the two divergent entertainment forms most adroitly.

+ Elegant designs, ranging from lush jungle environments to awesome neon levels to old-school designs.+ The two-player games are simple, but fun.+ $20 price tag- not bad for pinball action.+/- Controls are reactive, but you can't help but get upset when you miss a simple shot due to the occasional inaccuracy.+/- Has a funky, distinct flavor all its own with FMV scenes, but they stop play too often.

Flipnic features four esoteric levels: Biology, Metallurgy, Optics and Geometry. Each has a series of tables connected by twisting, turning ramps, and each of these smaller boards has its own flippers, bumpers and goals. One might be the multi-ball screen, while another might contain some shorter timed missions.
