There are little details in the game that you might miss too. Hair realistically sways in the wind, and weapons actually change your characters appearance, much like in other RPGs. It's a nice little touch that may go unnoticed by some, however.

Surprisingly, there isn't much more known about the story than that besides the basic characters. There's Vaan's childhood friend Penelo, princess Ashe, the air pirate Balthier, and his Viera partner Fran. Though mere hours to release in Japan, most US gamers won't get to experience the world of Final Fantasy XII until the Fall of 2006. Until then, continue to salivate over these screenshots.

The landscape is also dotted with barrels that contain items. When you get near a treasure, an exclamation point appears over Vaan's head; when you get close enough to pick it up, the game will let you know. The camera is completely freely controllable and mapped to the right analog stick, letting you get a good view of the action.
