Evil Dead: Regeneration review: Finally a game that captures the Evil Dead feel - but it still isn't very good.

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: While I can't recommend it against other action/platform games such as the Devil May Cry, Prince of Persia, or even Ratchet and Clank series, it will certainly pull all the right strings if you're in the need of a bit of Ash. Groovalicious.

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: Enter an all-new Evil Dead experience, as Ash finds himself arrested, convicted of murder, and sentenced to Sunny Meadows, an institute for the criminally insane. Though better than the madness he escaped hidden within the woods, he quickly learns the evil has only become more malevolent.

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: It also is being released at a convenient $20 budget price, so if you don’t like it you are bound to know at least one die-hard Bruce Campbell fan this can make a perfect stocking stuffer for. Author: Dale Kulas   aka: Gruel

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: Hell, you probably won’t be able to find it at major electronics stores in a year. But it is a fun little game that should not be overlooked if one is looking for a cheap yet satisfying game.

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: On the other hand, any fan of the movies owes it to themselves to get a decent Evil Dead game; at $19.99 the price is right. Especially when you take into consideration that this could be the last Bruce Campbell adaptation of Ash with the impending Evil Dead remake coming out next year with Ashton Kutcher. Yeah, that will be fun. - Brad Hicks (Dr. Swank),

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: But sadly, the first two Evil Dead games have not fared remotely as well as the flicks, mixing some ill-guided humor with even worse control schemes, graphics, and gameplay. You can imagine my trepidation, then, going into yet another Evil Dead action romp.

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: Regeneration also allows players to control Sam directly -- when a section in a stage has an obstacle in front of it, there is usually a platform nearby which allows Ash to possess Sam and guide him through the nooks and crannies and find a solution to the puzzle thanks to his small stature.

Evil Dead: Regeneration review: Sam will these creatures around, bashing everything in your way, which eventually opens up a path for Ash to continue through the level. In some sequences, you have to protect Sam from oncoming deadites as he delivers spirits to their destination. All in all, the addition of Sam adds a welcome bit of depth to gameplay that would otherwise consist entirely of simple button mashing. Page 2 of 2 »
