Colosseum: Road To Freedom review:
If you're looking for a curious hack and slasher set in Roman times, well there's not really many options for you other than Colosseum. Unfortunately, Colosseum isn't quite as epic as its Roman connections might imply.

Colosseum: Road To Freedom review:
The main problem, other than the camera, is the lack of any helpful lock-on, leading to violent attacks on the air. Absurdly, your opponents are just as bad at targeting. The idea - the timetable, the events, the levelling - almost works, but the fighting isn't quite satisfactory and everything else is tiresome. Why are gladiatorial games so hard to get right?

Colosseum: Road To Freedom review:
While the elements of leveling your character to the highest class of gladiator are slightly addictive, the game manages to mess up combat, which is the one thing that makes a game about gladiators remotely enjoyable. - Brad Hicks (aka Dr. Swank), SwankWorld Media

Colosseum: Road To Freedom review:
Colosseum: Road to Freedom is one of those average games that has a lot going for it on the surface but once you start playing it fails to excite and after a few hours play tedium starts to set in.

Keep yourself out of this colosseum, as the show inside will leave you feeling bored...and violated.

Colosseum: Road To Freedom review:
+ Fabulous cut scenes and solid in game graphics.+ A decent soundtrack that accurately reflects the time period.+ Plenty of different weapons and items to play with.+ Being able to level up your character is a nice touch.- The combat is just atrocious. - There's no "hook" that encouraged me to keep playing.
