Capcom Classics Collection review: Arcade games were usually pretty good at rewarding loyalty, and this collection keeps that tradition alive. Capcom Classics Collection Volume 1 is a definite must buy and raises the bar for game compilations. Author: Jeremy Peeples   aka: Jeremy

Capcom Classics Collection review: We thought we could at least rely on Final Fight and Bionic Commando for kicks, having once owned and enjoyed the console versions, but even these two have failed to escape the ravages of time. The sprites in Bionic Commando jerk and shudder all over the place while Final Fight - we're sorry to say - just bored us ridged. It was never as good as Streets of Rage II anyway. Go on, admit it.

Capcom Classics Collection review: Smoke, Legendary Wings, Mercs, Section Z, and Street Fighter II (in various forms). It didn’t take long for me to remember why these oldies are still goodies. From Final Fight to Street Fighter there is a lot to play here, and it all comes at the low, low price of only 20 bucks. A fantastic collection that is a must for any old-school gamer. Ken rules.

Capcom Classics Collection review: The majority, though, have to be viewed with a certain degree of retro sympathy and serve as a timely reminder of just how far we've come in a short space of time. For nostaligists or gaming historians it's definitely worth every penny, and gives a startling insight into the genesis of one of the greatest gaming companies of all time. Capcom, we salute you.

Capcom Classics Collection review: Overall, Capcom Classics Collection is a wonderful compilation that should appeal to retro fans, modern gamers, and cheapskates alike. You really can't argue with 22 games for 20 bucks, especially when the emulations are spot-on and the line-up is this deep.

Capcom Classics Collection review: + A whopping 22 games! Some of them are average, but others, such as Final Fight and Forgotten Worlds are simply a blast.+ Tons of bonus content that includes art work, game histories, music, and even special gameplay variations.+ All of the games have certainly aged, but the visuals still look good.+ The classic soundtracks sound just as good as they did several years ago.

Capcom Classics Collection review: Smoke, and Final Fight in it is easily worth the price of admission. If you're a fan of these sorts of compilations, this one is, for the most part, well done.

Capcom Classics Collection review: That aside, this is still a sharp package. It's got nice-looking menus and some unlockable bonus items. While this might leave Street Fighter fans scratching their heads, any package with Forgotten Worlds, Commando, Gun.Smoke, and Final Fight in it is easily worth the price of admission. If you're a fan of these sorts of compilations, this one is, for the most part, well done.
