Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness review:
Though the Arc the Lad series may not be as widely known as Final Fantasy, its fans are just as, if not more, rabid. The first three games in the series were strategy...
Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness review:
The gameplay has been revamped, exploring has been all but cut and the graphics and sounds are minimal at best, at some points even reused from the previous game. Sure the online experience offers a little bit more than the single player does, but in the end this game is only for Arc diehards. Even if you are one of those that love the series I’d think twice before getting into this one.
Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness review:
I may have been looking for too much in this sequel, but while looking to improve a lot of elements, it just took a major turn the wrong way. Arc the Lad fans will most likely be disappointed in the game, especially the turn the story took. I highly doubt anyone will like the new hunter system, but if you’re really hardcore, rent it.
Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness review:
The difficulty curve of the enemies is clearly defined, and the graphics are nice, all things considered. In the end though, this game feels like a throwback, or an experiment gone wrong. Die-hard ATL fans should rent this first - hate the score if you want to, but just trust me and rent it first. Everyone else should save their money for a more worthy title, and pass this one up.
Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness review:
Arc the Lad has garnered quite the cult following among the RPG community as a fairly typical console role-playing series. In an effort to reach a broader audience however, Namco and developer Cattle Call have taken the series in a bold new direction with Arc the Lad: End of Darkness, the first ever Arc the Lad action-RPG. While that decision alone will upset diehard fans, the fact that End of Darkness falls short of the previous games in the series, and our lofty expectations to boot, is an even greater disappointment.
Arc The Lad: End Of Darkness review:
Subsequently, you won't be able to see what you're doing. Pressing L2 again either cancels the lock-on or switches it to another enemy. However, you don't always feel in control of the targeting system, so it's often easier to avoid the lock-on targeting altogether, unless you're using ranged attacks or magic. Page 2 of 2 »
