Need For Speed Underground 2 review:
Online again online play is hampered by EA's cumbersome proprietary system and again, unless you have top quality cars in the single player career there's not much enjoyment to be had. Even so this pure arcade racer will provide the kind of thrills and spills that fans of the genre are looking for.

Need For Speed Underground 2 review:
The Need for Speed series was really a one of a kind series in its prime. Although there was no shortage of competing titles, no other racer seemed to capture the surreal feeling that the NFS series achieved, it was the ultimate escapism racer series, where anyone could take an extremely expensive sport car and risk nothing on their way through a peaceful autumn drenched countryside at 300KM/H. However, as of late, the Need for Speed name has lent itself to a different kind of racer, where the peaceful countryside is replaced with a busy urban setting, and the Lamborgini Diablo is replaced by the Nissan Skyline. I am speaking, of course, about the city based competitive racing of NFS: Underground 2, the latest in the NFS series, which is in review today.

Need For Speed Underground 2 review:
The biggest upgrade in NFS: Underground 2 is the free-roamingstyle of play. Rather than just bouncing you between different sections of thecity like its predecessor, the game allows you to roam a sizable city in searchof the perfect ride and the means to get it.

Need For Speed Underground 2 review:
Sometimes these strange mental associations are strong while playing EA's games and perhaps the strongest when playing any of their sports games. EA can often spot and launch a winner, but for every winner they make, they dish out three expansions and a watered down sequel that makes it quite clear to everyone what their long-term goal is in regards to the initially exciting and successful franchise.

Need For Speed Underground 2 review:
Need for Speed Underground 2 is the EA juggernaut at its most cynical and ruthless. A game that is all style, little substance, it will sell like hotcakes thanks purely to its subject matter, irrespective of the quality (or, in this case, a distinct lack thereof) of the title.
