Land Of The Dead: Road To Fiddler's Green review:
While plenty of low-budget "B" movies often get lauded for their creators making do with a modicum of finances and resources, games that have that same feel these days get little to no such love. Blitzed by the more critical folks out there who compare nearly everything they play (or don’t play and just comment on) to hugely popular benchmark titles, most of these games live or die by word of mouth rather than expensive magazine, TV and billboard advertising. Personally, I review games based on their own merits as opposed to stacking them up feature for feature against similar titles. If a game pulls me into the world the developers have created and manages to make me feel like I’m running for my life, getting the girl, driving a fast car or whatever else the description says on the back of the case, I’ll gladly overlook almost any technical flaws. While it’s important to judge a game fairly in regards to things like gorgeous graphics or innovative gameplay, it’s also important to step outside the nitpicky critical control booth and blow the heads off zombies while occasionally getting the crap scared out of you.
