Set throughout the period of World War II, Hidden & Dangerous 2 puts the player in charge of a squad of SAS troops, leading them on a variety of historical missions. The player will, during the course of the game, visit a number of theaters of operation, participate in stealth missions, frontal assaults, and a number of other authentic actions.
Hidden & Dangerous 2 preview:
We're hoping Illusion can deliver on its other promises of radically improved AI (who doesn't promise this, though?), and give us a more rounded experience than the punishing 'one shot and you're dead' mechanic used first time around. If it can deliver the same rich, tense atmosphere, then H&D 2 will undoubtedly end up as one of the games of the year.

Eventually we culled them one by one, dragging their lifeless torsos to a darkened corner to avoid further suspicion, while taking pictures of top secret plans and planting explosive charges to send the whole place up to the heavens.
Hidden & Dangerous 2 review:
You can, of course, pick up enemy weapons and carry one on your shoulder after that, but the limited weaponry should make for an interesting set of battles, and with some superbly designed maps we can foresee this being a very popular element of the game. At present there's no co-operative mode, but we're assured this is coming as part of the already confirmed mission pack.
