In the spring of 2004, NCSoft graced our computers with an innovative MMORPG called City of Heroes. While the premise itself was new (creating a super hero to fight crime in Paragon City), and it by far had one of the most in-depth character creation systems for an MMO of its time, once you earned your proverbial hero’s badge and exited the beginning area, things seemed to slow almost to a crawl as most of your time was spent grinding away at task after task with very little reward just trying to reach that next level.
