Super Mario Strikers review:
Pros:- Simple to play, difficult to master- Incredible fast-paced frantic action- Multiplayer brings out the best/worst in peopleCons:- Possibly a little too frantic for some- May not stand up to long periods of play
Super Mario Strikers review:
Mario has been a busy little plumber this year, hasn’t he? Popping up in at least 10 games or more spanning a wide range of genres, from puzzlers, RPGs and racers to dancing, party and sports games, Mario and company have been dominating Nintendo’s line of console and handheld platforms all year long. After so much exposure you’d think Mario’s constant presence would start to wear out its welcome, however despite a few of his cross-genre efforts falling flat for the most part I must say his umpteen game appearances have been quality affairs. Fortunately, that track record continues quite well with this week’s release of Super Mario Strikers for the Nintendo GameCube, a fun and addictive arcade soccer game, with that usual Mario universe twist of course, that only stumbles on its dribble towards greatness due to a severe lack of gameplay modes and longevity.
Super Mario Strikers review:
Playing in a versus game, be it with a teammate or without, is a veritable free-for-all. Big Hits beget more Big Hits, and the pacing is exceptionally more intense than single player -- it won't be hard to distinguish between playing your friends and playing the computer, although admittedly, the A.I. is exceptionally aggressive in SMS.
