Soulcalibur II review: So there you have it: if you like Soul Calibur -- or fighting games in general -- get Namco's Soul Calibur II and two Hori Fighting Sticks. The game is a glorious, beautiful-looking, feeling, and sounding replacement for its predecessor, and, some minor one-player item-unlocking issues aside, the all-around best fighting game available for (oh so) easy importing today.

Soulcalibur II review: Regardless, it's the absolute best fighting game available on the GameCube, and fantastic fun for one or two players. Good luck finding one, since early buzz is that Nintendo's heavy advertising of Link in the GameCube version has that edition of the game in short supply. Snatch it up while you still can … you won't be the least bit sorry.

Soulcalibur II review: Although some can string in combos from far range, they are balanced out with slower attacks, weaker attacks, or something similar, and blocking is one aspect of the game that is improved upon. All in all the game is probably one of the best fighting games on the Gamecube. Incredible graphics, awesome gameplay, great controls, and enough unlockables to keep you playing for a long time.

Soulcalibur II review: Namco's stunning beat 'em-up makes it on to the 'Cube and this time it's got Link.

Soulcalibur II review: The Gamecube is seriously lacking in the fighting game department. Soul Calibur 2 fills up this void with ease with perfect gameplay and sweet characters. Also with Link as an added bonus you can't go wrong.

Soulcalibur II review: There's no denying Soul Calibur 2's quality, but can this quality overcome it's lack of any true improvement over the original?
