Soul Calibur II review:
Link is the best hidden character out of the three versions and he fits in well with this myriad of bizarre characters and eccentrics. The game should have been deeper and perhaps a little better balanced in the character strengths, but this is a solid title that boosts a genre that is dying before our very eyes. Bless Namco for trying.

Soul Calibur II review:
I was content to just keep to older 2D fighters. Out comes Soul Calibur 2, and after all the hype and demos I have played I decided to go ahead and give the third dimension one more go. Looking back I am glad I did as Soul Calibur 2 has much to offer in the way of game play, features, and hidden goodies.

Soul Calibur II review:
Heihachi, the worst choice for the game, is too cheap to truly be interesting — unless you are a die-hard Tekken fan. He is cheap and doesn't fit well, either. Even with these minor problems, any version is fantastic and merits a purchase... a purchase you will NOT regret!

Soul Calibur II review:
If you don’t mind waiting a little longer to save you the hassle of importing and playing with a translation guide on your lap, it’s probably better to wait for the PAL release. Maybe they’ll even tweak the game a little like they did with Metroid Prime and the Wind Waker, I know I wouldn’t mind seeing Link fight a little less unfair.©

Soul Calibur II review:
There's no denying Soul Calibur 2's quality, but can this quality overcome it's lack of any true improvement over the original?

Soul Calibur II review:
I’d like to get out the most important point of this review right now at the beginning: Soul Calibur 2 is the best 3D fighting game ever. Period. It has absolutely everything gamers could want: nearly flawless gameplay, beautiful visuals, a stunning musical score, and rock-solid control. If you’re even remotely a fan of fighting games, or video games period (which I’m assuming you are, considering you’re visiting this site), then let me make this as clear as possible: You must buy this game.
