Odama review:
Pros:- Totally unique gameplay concept- Voice commands work surprisingly well- Authentic sound design Cons:- Pinball mechanics don't feel right- Visuals don't stand up to close inspection- Controls and time limit are needlessly punishing
Odama review:
This is not pinball as we know it, but once again Nintendo comes up with a quirky take on an old idea. Very novel, but perhaps too complex for newcomers.
Odama review:
The Odama provides a way for you to hit key points in a level, too. For example, you might need to smack it into a gate that will toggle the flow of a river either on or off. It'll need to be off in order to get your guys across, but it can also be used as a defensive strategy against invading enemies.
Odama review:
It's definitely unique as far as strategy games go, but Odama's novel mechanics and oddly authentic samurai feel are kneecapped by punishing difficulty and oft frustrating controls.
Odama review:
Anyway, I'm usually loath to advise rentals, but in this case I'll make an exception - not because I'm copping out, but because I want you to fail. Failure's rarely been as interesting as it is during your first hour here, and if you care about games rather than simply caring about which games are good, you'll want to play it for at least that long.
