Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
Every part of Echoes is polished, beautiful, and engrossing. I was hooked from beginning to end despite the number of horrible deaths that Samus endured due to my inability to destroy certain boss characters. My recommendation is to grab this game, turn off the lights, turn up the volume, and prepare for and amazing experience.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
The weapons system works differently, in addition to the basic blaster and missile you also get ‘Light’ and ‘Dark’ weaponry which has a limited amounts of shots. Ammo for these weapons is scarce, plus some creatures are invulnerable to different types of gun, so you need to think carefully before making your choice of what weapon to use.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
It is, however, an excellent adventure game and yet another showcase title for the GameCube. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a solid multiplayer experience or a game you can play through easily in a weekend, but for Metroid fans and all Nintendo loyalists who can appreciate a great puzzle mixed in with the action, Echoes is a knockout.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, is adifferent matter, however. To continue our analogy of “air”, we could compare thegameplay of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes to a breath of slightly stale air into thelungs of a semiconscious. While this isenough to bring him to life, he isn’t jolted into instant ecstasy like he wasthe first time he was dying.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
There were many games highly anticipated for consoles in 2004 which gathered all the hype but there was one game which cruised along at its own development pace releasing a few tidbits here and there before release, we are of course talking about Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. The task for Retro Studios was daunting, how do you top what was called the best Gamecube game ever and quite possibly the best Metroid game ever? The second game is here and it may become the most remembered Gamecube game of 2004, there is absolutely no question that it should be.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
Shame on you for passing up on the opportunity to play one of the games of the year. In with a bullet at No.33 in the UK charts, gone the next week. When such anomalies occur you feel like packing it all in and strapping a megaphone on your face and annoying Christmas shoppers in a Scouse accent with talk of football and Jesus. Remember: don't be a sinner, be a winner! Buy this game and set yourself free.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
18 hours in and still loving it. In fact, that's an understatement. Love? What's love got to do with it? This is an obsession. It's a whirlwind romance that can only end in tears and heartache. Next month's melancholy tail is inevitable, so before we get to the 'anger stage', let it be said right now: this game is unbelievable.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
But can a tale about Samus helping out giant moths adequately follow up one of the best and most immersive games for the Gamecube? New guns and weapons alone won’t do; everything has to be bigger, badder and more innovative. MetroidPrime 2 indeed takes this route by giving us more of everything from theoriginal, plus some classic old-school abilities like the screw attack and wall jump.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes review:
When Metroid Prime first burst onto the scene it was met with apprehension and a careful discerning eye before finally being embraced. While some found it hard to appreciate because of a control scheme that existed outside the reigns of standard first person shooters, the majority of players were able to appreciate the evolution of the franchise as a wonderful and fulfilling experience.
