The Incredibles review: The other day, I was playing an old Genesis game based on Disney’s Aladdin movie and I constantly caught myself thinking ‘why can’t games based on animation movies be this good more often’? Sure, the game isn’t revolutionary or anything, but it’s still fun to play, which is surprising, considering it’s more than ten years old.

The Incredibles review: Definitely aimed at the younger audiences, The Incredibles is an adequate but unremarkable action game on its own. The license certainly does help thanks to Pixar’s unique charm and the game includes a variety of movie footage and trailers to please fans of the film. As a licensed, children-oriented game The Incredibles succeeds but on its own, it is ordinary.

The Incredibles review: But I cannot recommend it to anyone else. It gets tedious, irritating, and boring very quickly. There are a great number of unlockable pieces of concept art, but they really are not worth the effort to get them, and they will probably be on the DVD release anyway. It is such a shame that with a great license and premise to work with, this game was the end result.

The Incredibles review: "Bullseye!" shouts Mr Incredible as he throws another enemy across the room into the oncoming goons, knocking them over for comedy skittles effect. This sounds like fun and it would be except, at a guess, it's about the 30th time it's happened and the 30th time Mr Incredible has seen fit to shout "Bullseye!" in glee, as though he's only just triumphantly discovered the move. Unless you're Jim Bowen, you'll tire of this rather quickly.

The Incredibles review: Of course, not everyone wants to take such risks. THQ scooped up the license to TheIncredibles quite a ways back in order to make a polished, risk-free, unoriginal game that is sure to sell a certain number of copies based on the success of the movie and make them a nice tidy profit.
