Now where did this come from? Out of the blue, Crave pops out a game that looks like a Nintendo 64 reject. Honestly, there is no real strive to even pay attention to this game … if it wasn’t for that convenient $10-20 price tag.

Future Tactics: The Uprising arrived with very little fanfare and very little hype. The fact that it has arrived at a budget price will also do little to make the masses aware of its presence. But it is a title that deserves to be recognized as trying to do something new, in trying to mix-up a few ideas and genres. For $20, it’s well worth giving it a try yourself.

Sweet, cartoony graphics that make you squeal with joy and a little girl called Pepper doing victory jigs. Creatures that are so twee and gormless, they don't seem any threat. Opening levels that you can coast through while cooing at how charming everything is. Yes, Future Tactics: The Uprising paints a pretty picture but don't make the same mistake we did.

Future Tactics: The Uprising is one of those games that just came out of the woodwork. Little was known until the release of this game, and little is still known by most gamers. With blend of turn-based strategy, stealth and RPG gameplay elements, Future Tactics is a legitimate attempt, from a newer company (Zed Two), at making a strategy game. This, in addition with fully destructible environments, and some plan, yet witty characters, you get a game that was entertaining for the few days that it was played here at Active.Gaming.
