For you fans of the original, I'm going to recommend to pick this one up, but wait until it drops in price. I honestly wish Nintendo would release expansion song packs and not muck with the interface too much. Japan already has a third DK game, and I can't wait for yet another set of songs to master.

+ Plenty of interesting play modes as well as a couple of new mini-games that are worth a try.+ There's a shopping mall where you can buy custom drum sets. +/- Gameplay is about the same, which is great news for fans and bad news for those who didn't like the original.+/- Graphics still look bright and colorful, yet basic. The developers didn't exploit the hardware's power at all.

If you have never played a Donkey Konga game before, you will want to see which game offers the better music selection for you. I still prefer the first one because it was new and innovative whereas the sequel does little other than add new music. If Donkey Konga 3 makes it out I hope there are some new play mechanics to keep the game fresh.-- Craig Majaski

You won’t regret it.All in all, Donkey Konga 2 is a welcome addition for the GameCube collection. It brings new life to the bongos. We’re all probably bored with the songs from the original one by now, so new tunes are always welcome and the new modes offer enough enjoyment. Let’s just hope Nintendo isn’t doing this same trick over and over again.We don’t want another Mario Party, now do we?

Elsewhere in the genre, the composition really needs you, points set you apart, and exhibitionism is the addiction that keeps you coming back. By comparison, Donkey Konga 2's a bit too... (ah hell, why not?) humdrum.
