DDR Mario Mix review:
Konami’s Dance Dance Revolution series of dancing/rhythm games has been grooving it up on home consoles with new editions on almost a yearly basis, however somehow the series has never found its way onto the GameCube. Until now that is, as Konami and Nintendo have teamed up to bring the series to the Cube with help from the well-traveled Nintendo star mascot Mario. Entitled Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix, this GameCube iteration of the series marries the tried-and-true DDR gameplay with the Mario universe to exciting end results. To the possible disappointment of diehard fans of the series though, and to the certain glee of those not so DDR-inclined, Mario Mix has been built to cater to the younger audience and general DDR newbies. Therefore the simplified level of gameplay difficulty and overall beginner’s approach may not be enough to please experienced dancers.
DDR Mario Mix review:
franchise. It’s not great, but it is a reasonably fun game. But more than that, it’s different yet still highly accessible for anyone to try out who might be one the fence when it comes to dance games. It brings the phenomenon to the GameCube, and while far from being the best the DDR the series has to offer, in the final analysis it could have been much worse.
