Battalion Wars review:
Battalion Wars certainly isn't a poor game by any stretch of the imagination, but it simply can't live up to the hype, or the sheer quality of its illustrious handheld cousin. As such, it's one you should perhaps try before you commit to a full-scale assault.

Battalion Wars review:
This is particularly noticeable on the missions where you try to defend bases as the enemy attacks in waves - mess up on the last wave of attacks then you have to fight them off all over again. It'll make you curse, it'll make you swear, but if you're anything like us then you'll keep coming back for more.

Battalion Wars review:
The fact that there's little more to it than a solid 10 hour single player campaign will be disappointing for some, but don't let that put you off what is one of the better GameCube exclusives around at the moment - a rare beast, as we're sure you realise…

Battalion Wars review:
All in all, BW is a decent gaming experience that tries some new things, and for that I can't fault it. We always get upset that certain studios do nothing but churn out sequels with the same bland gameplay. Well, BW is a departure from the norm. While I don't think it quite worked out, I'm at least pleased that an effort was made to distinguish this title from everything else out there.

Battalion Wars review:
Overall, Battalion Wars is a good offering that is definitely one of the better real-time-strategy games to come out for the GameCube console. Its lack of any type of multiplayer support is a serious hindrance to its long-term enjoyment, but lonely strategy fans gaming on the Cube will find it a must-buy.Questions? Comments? Battalion Wars review:
Battalion Wars is an enjoyable, yet frustrating hybrid of real time strategy and action amidst some pretty intense firefights with a sense of humor to boot. Too bad the targeting system is pretty much broken.

Battalion Wars is a cross between an action and a strategygame with a style all its own. The game could easily try to be an action or astrategy game...

Kuju's strategy title steps up to fill the void left by Zelda, thrilling GameCube owners with a truly superb RTS - the way it's meant to be played.

Battalion Wars review:
The game tells a sad, nonsensical story of war and betrayal, but so many details are missing you feel like you’re hearing a secondhand account of something that happened in an Advance Wars game. According to the cut-scenes, the Tundran and Frontier forces have been at each others’ throats for decades.

Nintendo and Kuju Entertainment team up for what was once an Advance Wars title, but dropped the Advance name for good reason.

+ A large number of missions to partake in+ Varied mission and troop types+/- Voice acting is good quality, but gets annoying- Troop management is limited and very basic- You can complete missions with minimal strategy involved- Vehicle control is subpar

Battalion Wars review:
When it comes to controlling units, the C-stick selects individual units, or even your entire command; the X button lets you command your troopers to either follow you or guard a position; and the Y button orders selected soldiers to attack a specific target. While it does take some getting used to, once you do, the "wars" in which you'll engage are epic.

In a year that continues its downhill slide into the category of worst video game year of the modern age (since the NES was released in 1985), this is another title that collapses on its own mistakes.
